Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, but Utah voters have several opportunities to register and cast their ballots before then. Because Utah conducts elections primarily by mail, it’s especially important to know when ballots are sent out and when they need to be returned.
Here’s your calendar of important dates for Utah’s 2026 midterm elections:
FRIDAY, OCT. 13: Mail ballots begin arriving
Utah conducts elections primarily by mail, and active registered voters are automatically sent a ballot before Election Day. Ballots are expected to begin arriving around Oct. 13.
FRIDAY, OCT. 23: Registration deadline
This is the deadline to register to vote online or by mail. If you miss it, you can still register and vote provisionally during early voting or on Election Day.
LATE OCTOBER–MONDAY, NOV. 2: Early voting
Early in-person voting is available at county vote centers during this period. Dates and hours vary by county, so check your local election information before heading out.
TUESDAY, NOV. 3: Election Day
This is the final day to vote in Utah’s midterm elections. Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. MT, and polls and vote centers close at 8 p.m. Same-day voter registration is also available at vote centers with proof of identity and residency.
