Tyson Foods announces closure of Eagle Mountain facility

More than 700 Tyson Foods workers in Eagle Mountain are facing an uncertain future after the company announced the plant will close amid a nationwide cattle shortage. Employees were told they will be out of work by Oct. 12, leaving many families just two months to find new jobs while facing mortgages, bills and back-to-school expenses. Workers say the sudden closure has left them โ€œscaredโ€ and uncertain about whether severance pay will be offered.
