“I’m an environmental person,” President Donald Trump said while touting his administration’s push to expand domestic mining at a roundtable in DC. The claim comes weeks after Trump dramatically reduced Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments in Utah, stripping protections from nearly 3 million acres and opening much of the land to uses including mining and energy development.
